Google’s Octane 2 Scores
Google released version 2.0 of their Octane browser / js benchmark. I decided to run it against my installed browsers Firefox, Safari and Chrome. IE is missing here since I’m running a Mac. Here are the results for the browsers on my machine (higher score is better):
1

client score
Firefox: 11938
Safari: 13419
Chrome: 17518

<Sigh> Firefox, I love you, but I believe the benchmark is correct.
Mozilla also provides the Kraken 1.1 benchmark. Results (lower time is better):
1
2
3
4

client mean times 95% confidence intervals
Firefox: 1597.8ms +/- 2.7%
Safari: 2388.1ms +/- 0.4%
Chrome: 1624.9ms +/- 0.6%

Although Firefox wins at its own benchmark (big surprise there), I believe Octane to more closely measure the performance of real world usage.
SunSpider 1.0.2 seems a bit more modern:

client mean times 95% confidence intervals
Firefox: 216.4ms +/- 6.1%
Safari: 162.4ms +/- 1.2%
Chrome: 189.1ms +/- 1.0%
